Here at the dealership, we like to be VW historians from time to time. One fun fact is that back in 1959, there was a coffee maker on VW Beetles. We thought that was really cool, and wanted to share.

The way it worked was the coffee maker was installed on the dashboard and powered by the old lighter outlet. It would heat up the coffee like tea and there were even magnets on the cups to keep them on the holder. This was a very rare vehicle, so it's cool to see some online photos. Auto advancements on VW vehicles have come a long way, as we now get voice command, touch displays, and many safety features that actively alert us to issues. Perhaps the coffee maker will return one day, but for now we're happy we have lots of tech on our new VW lineup.
