What's New for the 2025 Volkswagen Tiguan?
Just about every aspect of the 2025 Tiguan has been updated in one way or another. The engine has been retooled to generate more power. The exterior gets a major makeover, with a redesigned grille, headlights, and hood, new wheel designs, and three new paint color options (Avocado Green Pearl, Ascot Grey, and Monterey Blue Pearl).
Inside the cabin, there are more premium materials than ever before, like real leather upholstery and wood trim and higher-grade plastics on the dashboard. The Tiguan also scraps the previously available third row of seats, while increasing the amount of passenger space for five people. The infotainment setup also gets an update, with larger standard and available touchscreens and a new, available Harmon Kardon sound system.
Performance
Every 2025 Tiguan gets a 2.0-liter turbo I4 engine that generates 201 horsepower. This is a boost of 17 horses from the 2024 model's version of the turbo I4. While we don't yet have the 2025 Tiguan's fuel economy numbers, the 2025 model is 170 pounds lighter than its predecessor, which means it should exceed the 2024 model's EPA-estimated fuel economy of 26 miles per gallon combined.
Technology
The revamped VW Tiguan infotainment system now comes standard with an impressive 12.9-inch touchscreen, a notable improvement from the 6.5-inch display that came standard on last year's model. The improvements don't end there; while the 2024 Tiguan only allowed you to upgrade to an eight-inch touchscreen, the 2025 model lets you opt for a stunning 15-inch display. The 2025 Tiguan also offers an available 12-speaker Harmon Kardon premium sound system, ideal for music lovers.
Interior & Exterior
The VW Tiugan interior has been revamped with all-new materials to create a cozier space. Available leather upholstery and genuine wood trim add plenty of elegance. You can also upgrade the front seats with power adjustability, heating, ventilation, and massage. Standard 60/40-split rear seats make it easy to customize the interior space depending on your cargo volume needs; you can keep one or two rear seats up while still freeing up more space for transporting your belongings.
